Vector Database
A database optimised for storing embeddings and finding the nearest vectors quickly.
Last updated
A vector database stores high-dimensional embeddings and supports similarity search over them. Instead of scanning every record, it uses approximate nearest-neighbour indexes to return the closest matches in milliseconds. Vector databases are a common component of retrieval-augmented generation, recommendation systems and image search.
