Deep Learning

Machine learning that uses multi-layered neural networks to learn complex patterns directly from raw data.

Last updated

Deep learning is a subset of machine learning built on neural networks with many layers. Each layer transforms its input and passes it on, allowing the network to learn increasingly abstract features. This is why deep learning excels at images, audio and text, where useful patterns are hard to describe with manual rules. The trade-off is that deep models need large amounts of data and compute to train well.
